Community Connections partnership with francis w. parker school

At North Lawndale College Prep, I collaborate with teachers at Francis W. Parker School in our Community Connections partnership. The program helps link our school communities, and gives students on each end a unique academic opportunity.

authentic assessment with The Environmental protection agency

In 2012, my students at Providence St. Mel worked alongside attorneys and scientists from the US EPA and Illinois Governor Pat Quinn to hold a mock hearing concerning environmental issues in the West Garfield Park community.

civic engagement with mikva challenge

I sponsored the Student Election Judge program at North Lawndale College Prep in cooperation with Mikva Challenge. 12th grade students worked at neighborhood polling places to ensure a fair and fluid election process.
